The maps delineate the changes made to a school library over an eight-year period since 2001.
In general, the lower section of the floor remained unaltered, while notable updates have taken place in other parts, including the addition of books’ categories and the introduction of new study facilities.
Regarding the left-hand side and the upper section, there used to be shelves for three types of books, namely self–help, history, and fiction in 2001. Even though the space for books was narrowed, a greater variety of books was featured in 2009, adding three more categories, including kitchen, economics, and law. The former location of fiction books at the top of the map was utilized for tables instead.
Looking at the central area, there used to be eight short tables in 2001. 8 years later, those tables were converted into four long ones, and there was a new area for children built. Moreover, the right-hand side of the floor has been technologically transformed. Not only was the place for newspaper and periodicals removed in favor of films and DVDs, but more computers were also introduced in 2009 compared to 2001. Only the lower part of the library, with the librarian’s desk and stairs, remained unaltered in 2009.
