The drawing illustrates the changes made to the ground floor of a library from 2001 to 2009. Overall, it is evident that considerable upgrades were observed in the ground floor over the surveyed period.
In the northern side of the floor, the former fiction area was converted into tables with the increase in size. Another significant development was the replacement of separated tables in the middle of the library with four long tables, serving the function of welcoming more visitors. In addition, there was the removal of the newspaper and periodical area in order to make way for films and DVDs one.
As for the remaining features, to the west, the former area for history was renovated with three distinctive functions, including kitchen, law, and economics. Similarly, the self-help area was reduced in size to make way for two other fields ( history and fiction ). Furthermore, while there was an addition of two computer blockes to the east, the librarian’s desk and stairs stayed unchanged in the southern side throughout the period.
