The drawings compare the South Wing of Walton Museum in 2008 before and after a series of changes over a span of 4 years.
Overall, this museum experienced a huge transformation in the general infrastructure during the 2008-2012 period. Furthermore, after the renovation, the museum was taller than before.
As can be observed clearly, in 2008, the museum only contained two main floors. Specifically, on the top of the museum was the construction of the reception and reading room. Besides, the three other rooms were the special exhibition room, shop and cloaks room, which were all located under the ground. Additionally, the entrance way was on the left of the reception .
After the modernization, all the museum features underwent changes, except the unchanging of the shop, special exhibition room and reading room. Firstly, the previous stair was modernized to become the new lift. On the west, there was a combination between the cloaks room and the reception in order to create places for the erection of the new entrance hall. In addition, thanks to the renovation, the terrace, restaurant and self-service room were modified and located in the third flood. Lastly, on the top of the museum, the exhibition room was constructed.
