The two plans illustrate the renovation of university’s sports facilities from current to future.
Overall, the comparison of two maps reveals the change from three separated sports amenities into one widened area with the comfort of social interaction.
The university sports centre will experience noticeable changes in athletic amenities. The space for gym in the north will be widened to the east side. While the outdoor courts on the right-hand side will undergo a renovation into sports hall, the other wing of the outdoor courts to the west of the main building will be reconstructed into a large leisure pool. Further developments would take place in the north-east corner of the layout with the addition of a dance studio. However, a vast pool, situated right in front of the reception, will not face any changes.
Moreover, the redevelopment of sports centre will also involve the establishment of new social facilities. Along with a changing room, remained in the west corner of the main building, two additional rooms will be constructed in the bottom west and east corners. The changing room in the south-western corner will be accompanied with a new shop with sports items, whilst the changing room in the south-eastern corner will have a cafe booth adjacent to it. Meanwhile, the reception and seating area will remain unaltered.
