Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this letter finds you well.

I’m writing to express my interest for the opening at the school library, as advertised in the weekly magazine. I am a second-year marketing student with a summer break between my next semesters and therefore, the said position would be a great fit for me.

Moreover, I have prior experience working in a library. I used to volunteer at my parish library back in India, where I assisted the head librarian with keeping records, re-shelving books, and making calls to library members who failed to meet their due dates. In addition, I am also student research assistant at the school and hence spend a lot of time in the school library. As such, I am already familiar with the layout of the space and often find myself helping other students find books or sections within the library.

Having said that, I believe I have the relevant experience for advertised position and I look forward to discussing this opportunity further at interview.
