In 1992, South America was producing 1,43,000 tons of beans, after 2 years its production reduced slightly to 1,40,000 tons and in 1996, it decreased to 1,12,700 tons cacao beans, at the same time Asia was producing 2,34,000 tons of beans and became the highest producer of cacao beans. In 1998, Asia and South America were manufacturing 4,36,000 tons and 3,89,000 tons of cacao beans respectively. England was producing 56,000 tons of beans in 1992, rose to 67,000 tons in 1994, after 2 years it decreased to 43,000 tons and reach up to 49,000 tons in 1998. In 1992, there was 29,000 tons and 46,000 tons beans production by Africa and North and Central America respectively.Both areas show opposite trends. North and Central America decreased its production to 25,000 tons in 1994 and Africa rose to 48,000 tons and their production continued to increase to 1,19,000 tons by 1998 and then decreased again to 25,000 tons in 1998 in Africa.
To conclude, Africa was the least production of cacao beans, except in 1996.
