The given table presents data on consumer expenditure on three types of consumer goods in five states in 2002. Overall, it is evident that countries like Ireland and Turkey had the greatest proportions of expenditures in almost all sections. This includes food, drinks, and tobacco, which are illustrated as the products with the largest percentage of spending in each state.
Turkey spent 32.14% on food, drinks and tobacco, displaying the highest proportion. Ireland, showing approximately 4% less than Turkey, however, significantly outraced the other three states. Despite the fact that Italy had almost the lowest proportion in the first section, it outstripped all other countries in terms of clothing and footwear. There, Turkey, Spain, and Ireland demonstrated nearly identical percentages (just over 6%).
In leisure and education, comprised a small minority of the expenditures, Turkey again took the lead in proportion, which was 4.35%. Almost three times less was the percentage for Spain (1.98%), while Ireland spent a bit more than Spain.
