Overall, the United States hit the highest amount of rubbish of all over the entire period, it was the opposite for Ireland with the lowest number.

A closer look to the table shows that citizens in America in 1980 contributed significantly more rubbish than people in other countries with 131million, followed to Japan with 28 million tonnes in the same period. Portugal and Ireland had considerably lower proportions with 2 and 0.6. In 2000, the US’s garbage had increased to 192 million and remained its first rank. Meanwhile, Japan witnessed a notable grow and produce 53 million tonnes.

Looking at the table in more detail, Korea’s trash was littered 31 million in1990 and had a dramatically decreased to 19 million tonnes by 2000. Poland saw a minimally fluctuation with the figures ranging from 4 million in 1980 to 2000. Portugal’s waste had a slight increase from 2 to 3 million and reached 5 million tonnes at the turn of the century.
