The table illustrates the percentages of adults living in urban and rural areas who participated in four different free-time activities in 1990 and 2010.
Overall, reading was the most popular activity in both areas in both years, while animated play attracted the smallest proportion of people. In addition, participation in photography increased over time, especially in rural areas.

Animated play showed relatively low participation. In urban areas, the percentage stayed the same at 10%, while in rural areas it declined slightly from 18% to 14%.
Regarding play, rural participation was higher than urban in both years. In 1990, 26% of rural adults took part in play compared to 21% in cities. By 2010, the urban figure fell to 14%, whereas the rural rate remained unchanged at 26%. Photography experienced noticeable growth. Urban participation increased from 7% to 17%, while rural figures rose more sharply from 14% to 24%.
