Overall, while the percentages of most of the appliances witnessed an upward trend, the video recorder saw a slight decrease. Additionally, the washing machine and computer users remained unchanged.
In 1995, the most popular appliance was washing machines, with 97%, followed by Color TVs with 94%, ranking at second. The percentage of video recorders was registered 81%, nearly double that of dishwashers with 45%. The figures for computers and cell phones were 29% and 27%, respectively. The lowest percentage belonged to digital cameras with only 2%, ranking at bottom.
In 2002, while washing machines and computers were recorded as being unchanged, there were many changes in other figures. Color computers surpassing washing machines became the most popular appliance with 98%. In addition, a considerable increase was observed in cell phones and digital cameras. The proportions of these products were 56% and 39%. While dishwashers also saw a slight increase from 45% to 55%, the video recorders decreased by 9%, standing at 72%.
