The table sheds light on the various types of automobiles registered across three given years in Australia. Overall, it is evident that there was an increase in registration across all categories.
Looking at smaller vehicles such as; passanger, commercial vehicles and motorcycles, passanger vehicles had the highest number of owners over the years in question, with 13,000,000 in 2014, a 10.2% increase from its 2010 level. Commercial automobiles hovered between 2.3 – 2.7 million, having a 17.4% rise in registration. Motorcycles saw a 30.8% change over the years, but interestingly did not meet up to a million registrations over the time frame, with just over 700,000 in 2014.
Turning to trucks, heavy duty trucks proved to be more popular than the light trucks, while the former had only an 8.3% change with 416,000 in 2014, the smaller trucks had 23.5% more registrations, growing from 106,000 in 2010 to 131,000 in 2014.
