The table above gives a variant of information about students who studied distinct departments including English, Modern Languages, History, Physics, Math as well as Chemistry at an Australian university in 2009.
In general, the overseas students in this university paid more attention to Math while the opposite was true for English. Besides, the women tended to study English the most; however, Chemistry seemed to be less common for them.
It can be clearly witnessed from the table that female pupils were mostly interested in English while their proportion considerably accounted for 72%. In contrast, this figure of students who had the first language not English and born outside Australia was insignificant with around 12% and 20%, respectively. On the other hand, Chemistry showed the least choice of women with only 15% of all students, but it’s percentage of foreign pupils over doubled the Modern Language one.
Especially, although Physics and Math had the similar 56% of students who were not born in Australia, the females chosen Physics were much more 39% than those of the other one. Additionally, History was applied by about 45% of people and ranked second among the total students whose first language were not English.
