The bar chart compares the proportion of fuel derived from renewable energy used for transportation in six countries of European Union – Slovakia, Austria, France, Poland, Spain and Greece in 2009 and 2010, while also providing the average percentage of fuel consumption of these countries.
Overall, it is clear that Slovakia was the place where fuel consumption was the highest, while Greece was the lowest one. The figure in remaining countries experienced an increase in fuel consumption,except France which remained stable.
Regarding the 3 major countries of fuel consumption, Slovakia fuel used for transportation was the highest at above 9 percent in 2009, although the figure for this countries witnessed a small fall to about nearly 8 percent in 2010, it still remained the highest figure of the 6 countries. While Austria consume exceeded 6 percent in 2009 and then showed a slight decrease to approximately 5 percent, France remained consistently in the two years.
Concerning the increase categories, the figure for Poland, Spain and Greece in 2009 was about 5, 4 and 1 percent, respectively and then witnessed and increased by nearly 1 percent and reached approximately 7, 5 and 2 percent, respectively. Also, the average fuel of European Union increased from over 4% to nearly 5% over 2 years, which mean that there was an increased in fuel consumption among these countries, except some decrease categories.
