The table provides information on the number of lines, total length, number of annual journerys and the cost of single ticket in underground systems of such cities as New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, Mexico and Beijing.

Overall, the New York City Subway is an absolute leader in terms of total length of the underground system, even though the number of line is close to other cities. Nevertheless, Beijing and Tokyo have the highest number of journey per year.

First of all, the most significant difference is the cost of the single ticket in London and in Mexico, as the ticket price in London is more than 7.5 times higher. Also, the second most expensive underground is located in New York. However, the single ticket in New York is still cheaper than the London Tube ticket by 4.8 US dollars.

Another interesting feature the number of lines comparing to the total length. The shortest underground system is located in Paris, while the number of lines in the Paris Metro is less than the number of lines in the longest system, New York City Subway, only by 8 lines.
