Dear Thomson,
I hope this letter finds you well. I would like to apologize my absence in arranging the farewell party though I have planned it out with you. Last week, my mother had informed me that my family would be hosting a family reunion on the 17th of June, which is two weeks away from the farewell party. All of the sudden, she rang me last night informing me that it had been pushed up to the 8th, during Randall’s farewell event.
I am incredibly sad that I am unable to attend Randall’s depart. I am aware that this abrupt letter sounds unprofessional and I am truly sorry for my actions.
To ensure that I am still contributing to this event, I thought of an idea to create a surprise video message from all our co-workers for Randall that will be played in the middle of the party. If you agree to this idea, I will be the one reaching out to others and edit the video on time.
Warm Regards,
Lucy
