The map below illustrates how the centre of a town has changed between 1700 and today. Overall, it is clear that while the infrastructure has been significantly developed, most of the agricultural facilities and territory have been demolished or replaced by various buildings.

It can be seen that the hotel to the left of the market square has been slightly extended. Likewise, the roads have been considerably expanded and developed, and a number of new houses and shops have been built. However, the market square and the church have remained the same despite the passing of time.

By contrast, the green area has become enormously smaller, and some of the stables and farms have been removed. However, they have been mostly replaced by modern facilities or new buildings, illustrating that the town has become more densely populated and urbanised. Furthermore, green areas actually have been developed. For instance, In the top left-hand corner a park has appeared.
