Dear Manager,
I am writing to lodge a complaint about my unsatisfactory visits to your hotel last week. A few weeks ago, my wife and I saw an advertisement on social media saying that your hotel would be offering a 2 days Christmas discount package with a total of two thousand dollars. We were truly obsessed with the package offers and therefore decided to spend our fruitful holiday with our children in your hotel on 24th December. Unfortunately, we were deeply disappointed and were completely let down after our stay.
We visited your hotel with extremely high expectations as we believed the hotel is a five stars hotel and was ranked the top fifty best hotels in Asia. However, when we first stepped into our room, not only was it not the sea side view mentioned in the advertisement, but the hygiene was also slightly unacceptable. We found some dust at the corner of the king size bed and even a little hair in the sink. It was definitely awful, we knew housekeeping might be busy due to peak season so at first we were not so mad with this. We tried to request for another room, however one of the front desk staff was so rude and said there was no extra room for us to change. We understand that you guys were busy but being rude is not an acceptable way to deal with your customers, isn’t it ?
Apart from that, the package had included a dinner buffet on Christmas Eve, saying there would be a variety of food choices including lobsters, angus beef and oysters. However when we arrived at the hotel restaurant at 8pm, a majority of the food was sold out. Not only was the remaining food cold and unappealingly refilled, but the promised premium items, such as the lobsters and oyster, – were completely depleted with no intention of restocking, leaving us and our hungry children with virtually nothing to eat. To make matters worse, when we approached the restaurant staff to inquire about the situation, we were met with indifference and a total lack of apology, completely ruining what was meant to be a special Christmas Eve celebration.
Given the severe shortcomings in room allocation, cleanliness, front desk professionalism, and dining quality – all of which fall far short of the standards expected from a top-tier hotel. We are requesting a 50% refund for the package and an explanation of how you intend to address these unacceptable service failures.
Looking forward to your reply.
yours faithfully,
Chris Wong
