The table illustrates the total number of people who rode bicycles by different age groups in one town in 2011. Units are measured in percentages.
Overall, the female population in the age group of 0-9 had the highest proportion, whereas the population of male over the age of 40-59 had the lowest position.
In details, in the age of 0-9, female population had 51.4% making it the highest and this was quickly followed by female teens who are 10-17 years old who had a percentage of 42.2%. The age group of 18-39 had only 17.1% which is higher than the ages of 40-59 which was only 12.3%. Lastly, elderly women over the age of 60 had only 18.5%.
As for the male population, from the age of 0 to 9 it had it’s peak with 50.3%. However, the number began to decrease as male teens with the age of 10-17 with a total of 24.6%. Young adults with the age of 18-39 had 9.7%, while the older generation who are 40-59 years old had only 8.0% which is lower than the elderly male population with 13.2%.
