Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to express my utmost interest in volunteering as a teacher on the basic English programme for refugees, as per the advertisement given in the Indian Times on 25th March 2024.

My father was a social worker who devoted his entire life to the rehabilitation of refugees from across the globe. Inspired by his dedication and vigour, I wish to follow his footsteps by helping refugees in any way I can. Moreover, my best friend from college is a daughter of refugees. Every holiday season I would visit them and hear all sorts of heart wrenching stories of the hardships her parents faced in a country where they couldn’t even communicate. These reasons have motivated me to be a part of this humanitarian cause.

I have a master’s degree in English and having worked with non-English speakers before in my online classes, I believe I have the appropriate skill set to be a valuable member of your team for this programme. My past experience with social work and strong motivations further indicate my fit for the role.
