Advertisements discourage people from being different and being individualistic by encouraging potential customers to be like one another. Although I do not agree with this statement, I believe that advertisements have the capacity to impact individuals’ characteristics and appearance. People have the choice, however, to choose how much or how little the commercials could impact them.
Advertising encourages people to identify with and admire celebrities or brand ambassadors; it makes us want to use the brand in our personal daily lives. For example, clothing design and advertisements encourage people to desire the products by having beautiful or successful celebrities endorse the brand; these desires allow products to be sold at a more expensive price range. Once customers feel the possibility that they could potentially become like the brand ambassadors, they will give their trust to the brand and make the purchasing decision.
On the other hand, some may say that advertisements also affect their brand; for instance, if a large number of people want to be like the advertising models, this would allow the brand’s
Sales to increase leading to a significant increase in the profit for their companies and brands. The more users are interested the better the sales are, this is why the brand likes to have commercials as if it would inspire customers. Big companies such as Apple, would want their commercials to be attractive so more customers are willing and wanting to have an iPhone in their lives. Having up-to-the-mark ads would allow people to think that, I want a new iPhone, and as the word spreads more people would want to have and the number of sales per day would significantly shoot up.
