In recent years, advertising has been become increasingly popular in society, and some people claim that these commercials influenced people to buy extra number of products instead of focusing it’s quality. I am completely agree with this notion and will explain the reason for my inclination in the ensuing paragraphs.
To begin with, advertisements have become an inseparable part of our daily lives, appearing across various platforms such as digital media, television and billboards. Regardless of the medium, their primary goal is to capture the attention of consumers and boost products sales, which ultimately benefit large companies. For instance, KFC, a well known fast food chain in North America, frequently offers a lucrative discount to its customers who purchase items above certain quantity, encouraging bulk buying. In the race to gain more customers and maintain healthy profit margins, many producers compromise on the quality of their products.
Furthermore, most of the advertisement target the younger generation, because they are easy to manipulate. Children are not enough mature and don’t have a sense of whether the product is good for them or not. They are attracted by colourful pictures on advertisements. For example, a well known chocolate brand Kinder Joy offers tiny toy with their chocolate packet. Even though these are not good for health, kids pester their parents to be purchase Kinder Joy.
To conclude, I would like to reiterate my opinion that consumers are swayed by commercials to buy excessive amount of items while they do not concern about quality. That’s why I believe, ads should remain more focused on its feature than be advertising an offer on it.
