Some individuals believe that all university students should attend to voluntary work to contribute to the development of community and society. Personally, i partly agree with this view.
On the one hand, university students should participate in some voluntary organization to do some great activities for local areas. This is the good opportunity for them to improve their life skills through activities. They have chances to talk and share some stories with different people with different age that help they have a deeply perspective in their life and also have empathy with other people. As a result, they can learn a compassion among people and also learn teamwork skill while they join in voluntary work with other volunteers which play a vital element to apply for job in the future. Moreover, these activities enhance universities’ reputation and get the attention of students lead to the rate of students attend the university program that increase significantly and supply high quality labour resources for the country.
On the other hand, students join in these activities too much that is not necessary because they spend almost of time for learning in the university and must acquire a huge knowledge. Some students they stay away from their families or have poor circumstance, they have to find jobs after class to pay for living cost. Therefore, participating a lot of activities in a day that will make them exhausted thereby this problem affects to learning outcomes.
In conclusion, engaging in voluntary work to help the local community brings several benefits for students. they can develop their life skills. However, they should not attend to these activities too much that can have detrimental effects for their health and learning outcomes.
