Band 5+: Fewer young people do farming work in rural areas. Why? Should young people be encouraged to do farming work?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The conversations surrounding agriculture have become a common topic worth keeping in mind. In the meantime, it is apparent that there are fewer young workforces in this field. This essay will shed light on the factors which contribute to this phenomenon and explain why farming works should be implemented by the youths.

Granted, many reasons can be seen as the driving forces behind this issue. Consider some underdeveloped countries, the agriculture there is extremely fundamental with the shortage of modern appliances. Hence, the more hardworking humans are, the more agricultural profits they gain. Young adults, meanwhile, are well-qualified with higher levels of education, which means that they might avoid such hard works of blue-collar workers. In terms of many developed nations, although they witness the promotions of technology and infrastructure, these potential laborers also ignore such agricultural occupations. This is predicated on the assumption that the automatic systems there have developed so well that humans are no longer necessary. As a result, experience from some middle aged people seems to be superior to the productivity of their counterparts there. Thus, the appearance of young people in agriculture has faded away.

In the meantime, it is essential to encourage youthful individuals in farming works. Nowadays, significant human reproduction has led to overpopulation all around the world, which was accompanied by a heavy burden on food supply and environmental deterioration. Young people, as a measure, could handle these phenomena by coming up with a more innovative and sustainable farming method. Thailand, an Asian country, for example, since a larger expenditure of domestic authority was spent on agriculture to attract such potential workforces, it has not only received a surge in the number of products, but also tackled environment’s concerns effectively. Therefore, without the involvement of young people in farming works, it would be a mistaken development.

In conclusion, the harsh conditions and automatic systems could be considered as the main reasons why fewer youthful individuals take part in agriculture. In addition, a more sustainable future will be seen thanks to promoting such labors.
