Rising number of people prefer to live alone rather than living with families or friends. Although living apart from family provide a number of advantages such as independence, freedom and peace, but it also has its own drawbacks like loneliness, boredom and weight of bearing responsibilities.
One of the main advantages of living separately is independence, as it helps to learn taking responsibility for your decisions and actions as well as developing maturity. Another reason is complete freedom, you will not have to take into account others’ opinion or build your schedule according to theirs. For example, those who live alone can invite their friends or relatives to their apartment whenever they want even if it is late at night or early in the morning. Furthermore, independent living allows people to achieve a sense of mental peace, as it provides private space, where they can unwind and do activities, which makes them more relaxed.
However, despite these advantages, independent living also has significant drawbacks. One of the major disadvantages of living alone is feeling lonely, and it can cause a detrimental effect on one’s mental health, because they don’t have anyone at home, whom they can talk to. A further drawback is the pressure of handling responsibilities, as human-beings must manage finances, household tasks and daily decisions on their own, which can lead to burnout and stress. Moreover, living alone is boring, even having short conversations face-to-face with a person is very rare.
In conclusion, I believe that advantages of living separately clearly outweighs the disadvantages, particularly due to being completely free and making decisions according only on your opinion.
