Some individuals predict that in some parts of the world, elders will outweigh youngsters. I think it will have a negative and positive development. I will give my humble opinion in the further paragraphs.
On the positive side is a longer life expectancy because an increase in the proportion of older people can be seen as a country progress in terms of healthcare. It indicates the development of medicine, thanks to it people live longer and healthier. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity to show other countries about living standards and advancement of medicine technologies.
On the negative side is a growing of healthcare costs. As I mentioned above, a long life hood is proof of improved techniques and satisfied condition. However, all that criteria’s require a lot of investment. For instance, the government must provide recourses and healthcare systems, leading to increased healthcare costs for the government and individuals.
To conclude, despite the negative aspects of higher proportion of older people, in my opinion, merits outweigh demerits because it is a pleased result of medical technologies and supporting the demography of the country.
