It is often argued that education should be government-funded and accessible to everyone. I completely agree with this statement because an educated populace is fundamental to a country’s progress.
First of all, education should be government-funded because the current global situation is very complex. If governments want their countries to develop more rapidly, they need to ensure that the younger generation receives a good education. This is the only way to boost a country’s economy. Many talented children with great potential cannot afford university or other educational opportunities. In some countries, education is more affordable, leading teenagers to consider moving abroad for better opportunities. Educational expenses are not the only concern; there are also personal expenses such as food and transportation costs, which can be significant along with high rent for apartments. These factors contribute to how governments lose young, open-minded individuals.
Secondly, if education were government-funded, graduates could dramatically impact various sectors in their country. For example, individuals in the arts can contribute to cultural development, attracting numerous tourists and generating profit. Those in technology take on responsibilities for advancements on the global stage and contribute to social security. Economists can attract substantial investments. Many other graduates would also play important roles in their country’s growth.
In summary, I strongly believe that education should be government-funded. Even if it is not fully covered, reducing its costs would be a significant step in the right direction.
