It is apparent that animal species, such as dinosaurs, undergo natural extinction, and humans should not interfere with this process. Personally, I am completely against this statement as nature is not the main cause of the disappearance of some species, and animals also serve as an important part in our life.

Firstly, while it is agreeable that natural factors might contribute to the extinction of certain species to some extent, in my opinion, it is mankind that is primarily responsible for this phenomenon. Over the centuries, numerous scientific and technological advancements have led to urbanization, bringing about inevitable consequences such as pollution and climate change. This is mainly due to the overexploitation of natural resources and the release of harmful substances from factories, resulting in habitat loss for some creatures. For instance, as a consequence of global warming, animals adapted to extremely cold conditions in the Arctic, such as penguins and polar bears, are at risk of extinction.

Secondly, animals should be preserved for they play a crucial role in both the diverse ecosystem and humans’ daily life. In fact, the food chain includes all species, each of which is irreplaceable, and if one species disappears, others may suffer from starvation. For example, the decline of bees may lead to reduced plant production, which poses an adverse effect on herbivores relying on those plants as a food source. Furthermore, some people are into harmless pets, such as cats or dogs, and research has shown that adopting them can help relieve stress and loneliness, especially for individuals who prefer a solitary life. Therefore, it is essential for humans and wild animals to coexist harmoniously.

In conclusion, I believe that rather than natural occurrences, humans are the main threat to animal extinction, and these creatures ought to be treasured due to their importance in both the environment and society. To address this issue, campaigns aimed at raising awareness and protecting endangered species should be organized.
