Although I agree that positive feedback plays a very vital role, I think that structured criticism is also crucial for their improvements in learning languages.
On the one hand, positive feedback by the language teachers significantly improves the performances of the students. Learning a new language is not a very easy task. Mistakes are very common phenomena when learning a new language. In that case, if teachers solely criticize them for making errors, they will be demotivated to move forward.
