Band 5+: Many supermarkets are selling more and more products that are imported from other countries instead of selling food that is locally sourced. What are the reasons for this? Is this a positive or negative development?

Imported goods have become increasingly popular among humans. However, it has been a debatable topic over the years that locally produced items should be a preference over international. As far as I am concerned, I am not a strong advocate to this approach. In this essay, I will discuss the reasons why imported goods are unequivocally a right choice over a regional one.

Nowadays consumer products demand has increased globally, as a result, many supermarkets were established to fulfil human necessities. for instance, many developed countries like UK and Malaysia do not have sufficient agricultural lands to grow and produce the food products and incessantly people have to embrace the imported goods and on top of that few small countries like Nigeria and Kenya their agriculture capacity can not afford the demand of the citizens and subsequently they have to import goods from other nations which are prominent into this.

Secondly, another possible reason that supports the statement is that international business agreement potentially improves the economic condition of the country. As a wide variety of products attracts many people and their purchasing habits increase intriguingly. For example, many advanced countries like Canada and America introduce various product quality and standards which attracts several foreigners to buy because of their natural phenomena. As demand increases, their economy boosts automatically.

In conclusion, nowadays all markets are interested to selling globally influenced products. Although, many claims that local items are more trust source, people are more likely to spend on international products rather than locally introduced. Unequivocally, it is important for every nation to invest globally to be effective in a long run.
