Over the few past years, academic pressure has been a common phenomenom among younger populations. As a result of chronical pressure from family members to achieve success, controversies have arisen surrounding artistic activities within institutions.
Non-academic subjects have been implemented in both schools and universities, the main reason is taking into account student well-being. Furthermore, it is confirmed that chronical academic stress can lead to various illnesses, such as: fat accumulation, weak immune system, loss of muscle mass, and contributes to the loss of memory.
Bearing in mind, as far as I’m concerned, the implementation of non-academic subjects is important when prioritizing student mental health. In other words, social or extracurricular activities helps with stress managing, preventing psychological and physical disorders such as burnout.
I beg to differ when it comes to discussing academic achievements over people’ s health. It is totally understandable that pressure leads to discipline. Nevertheless, it is important not to exceed normal pressure levels given that physical and mental symptoms also influence the academic performance of each student.
In conclusion, Academic pressure can be justified as a method to instill discipline in students; however, it is important to maintain balance within institutions to avoid any pathology or disorder in a student, which involves a positive correlation.
