It is sometimes believed that with the proliferation of online sources nowadays, artistic works and historical remnants can now be viewed online. While I understand the logic behind this opinion, I still firmly disagree with it for several justifications.
Those who believe that online museums offer customers a great deal of benefits may have some valid points. They may well argue that Internet users can be provided access to a wide range of information from different sources by using search engines like Google, video streaming sites like YouTube, or information websites such as Wikipedia. People claim that they can obtain information about art, history, art or culture through one of these channels provides them with sufficient understanding of particular topic. Furthermore, online platforms offer significant services that cannot be found in real ones. For instance, there are no opening restrictions, no entrance tickets and unlimited information data. Therefore, some might argue that we no longer need any museums and art galleries.
Nevertheless, I still oppose this view for several reasons that exhibition rooms play a vital role in our lives. The chief among these is that display rooms supply visitors with first-hand experiences in person. To illustrate, visitors will be in the presence of the objects and can comtemplate artistic masterpieces by their five senses as well as be immersed in the feeling of being surrounded by hundreds of historical events and people. Additionally, direct experience might evoke tourists’ emotional connection and also sentimental value. A notable example is that when people visit the “Ho Chi Minh campaign” museum, it always gives individuals a sense of fulfillment and security, a deep appreciation for the soldiers who sacrificed intensely in fierce battles and pride in Vietnamese achievements.
In conclusion, it is understandable why some may argue that online studios are indispensable in our digital world. However, I still cannot support such a view given the aforementioned reasons as physical museums and art galleries still hold irreplaceable value.
