Advertising has played a vital role in providing information about products, services, and places since the 18th century. However, many individuals believe that advertising is more harmful than beneficial. In my opinion, advertising offers more advantages than drawbacks.
First of all, advertising plays a crucial role in the growth and development of some nations. This is because people often do not know which products to buy in today’s market. There are many websites and shops that sell the same products from different companies, and they are also available on online platforms. However, some individuals, particularly those in rural areas, may not have access to appropriate products due to a lack of internet connectivity. For example, people in villages often depend on advertising to know what products are available to them.
Moreover, the younger generation is exposed to various cultures and educational advertisements, allowing them to see how foreign countries develop over time. I believe this exposure is beneficial for our evolving youth.
On the other hand, advertising has its disadvantages as well. Firstly, advertisements do not only highlight positive aspects; they also depict the darker side of society, including crime. This can have a negative impact on teenagers. Additionally, many products advertised are detrimental to health, such as tobacco and alcohol. Many people suffer from diseases and illnesses due to the consumption of such products.
In conclusion, as I reflect on this issue, it is evident that advertising has both merits and demerits. Nevertheless, I believe that advertising provides more convenience than disadvantages
