Band 5+: Politicians' personal lives should not be written on newspapers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is generally accepted that politicians always caught attention from public because their job is doing services for society from the political power that they have. Politician is believed to be the face of a nation. It is generally accepted that all their activities should be known by people in order for the people to keep in track of their work. The tracking that many people do can be in many forms like social media or newspapers. Nonetheless, There is a suggestion that politician’s personal live should not be writen on newspapers. In my humble opinion, I agree to avoid writing about politician personal live in newspapers.

Firstly, I think that writing about people’s personal live is not something that we should do. We will be considered as gossipers and really attached to a particular person’s way of living. This can also shows the quality of our society to the world as they can infer that we are majorly uneducated by diverting from common norms. We should also consider that politicians are not only doing politics. There are other things that they do in live such as having quality time with their family. By writing the personal live of politicians in the newspaper, we will make their social live miserable.

Secondly, I believe that politicians need downtime and breaks after encounter harsh environment situation from work. Writing about their newspaper will taken away the quality time that they potentially have from their family. In a worse case scenario, this might affect the sanity of the politicians. Besides, if we are not giving them their deserved time to relax, it may make them unable to cope with the pressure in doing politics, resulting in little to no innovation in their work due to lack of opportunity to calm and reflect on what they should do.

To sum up, politicians are also human and needed personal space. Writing about their daily live in the newspapers will shows to the other countries how bad our human resource quality is and also denying their chance to rest that will make them unproductive at work. It is better for us to put some trust for them as the politician elected from us.
