For many centuries, people have depended on color as it plays a pivotal role in interior design, allowing humans to feel comfortable in different places. That is why, I believe that the question of the necessity of using color schemes in decorating offices and clinics is one that should be considered. In this essay I would like to prove this and highlight the importance of color in design.
First of all, it is difficult to disagree that such simple thing as a color means a lot either for office workers or hospital clients. It greatly influences the atmosphere, since it is impossible to work in dull or completely bright rooms where mind is totally distracted from the working process. As a result, a person’s ability to work decreases. Furthermore, in such desperate places as hospitals, through a vivid interior it is feasible to maintain an ambience of happiness for patients who are unlikely to be cheerful at all. This will inevitably benefit people’s health as stress is the main enemy of recovery.
However, some people claim that an atmosphere around a person, including color, cannot influence human being’s productivity and attitude. If you are highly motivated, you will be able to work everywhere. Moreover, people are so distinguishing that it is impossible to please everyone in their color preferences. It can be found that an inappropriate hue for one person is calming for another, so color schemes will not help.
Of course, we are all different, but it is a well-known fact that warm shades are more soothing than, for instance, begrudging cold ones. For this reason, color schemes are indispensable in design, as they are suitable for the vast majority.
In conclusion, I can say that it is impossible to refute that color can affect people’s mood, so it should be used properly. Thereby, color schemes should be taken into account to create a conducive ambiance for aforementioned places.
