Band 7+: some experts believe that when a country is already rich, any additional increase in economic wealth does not make its citizens any more satisfied. To what extent do you agree or disagree.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, many developed countries have become wealthier than before. However, some people believe that although these countries have more money, their citizens are not becoming happier. I partly agree with this statement because wealth can improve people’s lives, but it cannot guarantee happiness.

On the one hand, having more money helps people enjoy a better standard of living. Rich countries usually provide better healthcare and education. People can buy houses, travel, and enjoy modern technology. These advantages reduce financial stress and make life easier. For example, people in wealthy countries often have access to high-quality medical treatment and education.

On the other hand, happiness depends on many factors. As countries become wealthier, people may work longer hours and experience more stress. In addition, modern lifestyles can lead to loneliness because people spend less time with family and friends. Mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, are also common in developed countries. Therefore, having more wealth does not always mean people feel happier.

In conclusion, I partly agree that increasing wealth in countries does not always make citizens happier. Although money improves living conditions, true happiness also depends on health, personal relationships, and a balanced lifestyle.
