These days, some people claim that capital punishment should be illegal for modern society. Whereas others think that this type of penalty consists of the right way to keep the cruel part of the population, which committed terrible crimes, under control. This essay examines both sides and gives its own opinion of that judgment.
On the one hand, criminals have to be punished because of their danger by the government for public safety. A good illustration of that advantage would be the USA that still has this policy, and it helps the country in controlling cases and laws. Many offenders were arrested for their crimes and forced to the death penalty because their verdicts were based on those facts. Another good pros is decreasing criminal activity due to people’s fear of death. While lawbreakers build their plans for doing something extremely bad, this fright can spring to their minds, and in this situation there is a possibility that criminals can come to their senses and stop.
However, there are also several disadvantages. Take for instance the circumstance when a guiltless person becomes blamed wrongly. After that accusation, a dangerous person would still be free and continue its crimes. While the normal would not. In addition, the death penalty cannot punish all bad people all around the world because they can still commit what is planned, and nothing will stop them. Their desire will win, and capital punishment won’t have any positive sides.
In conclusion, this type of penalty has pros and cons, but both of them have background anyway. In my point of view, death laws shouldn’t be restricted. But their usage has to be balanced and attached only in the right cases and with informed decisions.
