E-books have become increasingly popular in recent times, outweighing printed ones. While e-books may offer various advantages, I strongly believe that traditional books will remain available for a long time. This essay will substantiate my viewpoint through reasoned arguments and relevant examples.
On the one hand, e-books provide people with different conveniences. For example, they are more portable because they are kept in one light digital device, like a phone. This can especially be more convenient for individuals with busy schedules who have extended hours of work or study, as they can carry such books in one tool easily and read whenever and wherever they want. Not only are e-books portable and convenient, but they are also more cost-effective. Unlike traditional books, people can read e-books for free, without going out and buying from libraries, which might be more affordable, as they can save money that is spent on taxis or public transport.
On the other hand, I believe that printed books will still exist, especially due to older generations. As older people do not understand today’s digital tools, they may still prefer to read traditional books. In addition, printed books might still be preferable. For instance, some people may still enjoy the sense of holding a book in their hands and turning the pages. This activity might be a kind of meditation for many people, alleviating their stress. Furthermore, in some rural areas where internet access is slow or unavailable, e-books cannot be used. Therefore, individuals who live in such areas are likely to be the reason printed books remain available.
In conclusion, while e-books offer several benefits for individuals, such as convenience, portability, and cost-effectiveness, I am of the opinion that traditional books will still be preferable. That is why they are likely to remain available in the long run.
