Nowdays, many of the individuals rely strongly for the news and information that they receive from social media which made people question the trustworthiness on these online output. There are some people who consider those platforms have to be regulated and controled in order to decrease the misinfomation, while the others find that the regulations will prevent the free speech.
On the first hand, putting some efforts on controlling the platforms while applying strict rules will help on many aspects, and there will be a significant change on the quality and the quantity of information that is being distributed on social media. This will have a strong impact on contributing a safer and a healthier digital environment for the indiviuals fron different ages, while making sure that the news are totally true and autheintic. For instance, there will be no more rumors about celebreties or any false government rules.
In the second hand, all that control and regulations will cause a clear doubt on the free speech, which will affect the courage and confidence of others to explain themselves or their opinions on social media and make them think twice before posting anything there with the fear of crossing the limits. For example, anyone would hesitate sharing any information they have even with their small community.
In my perspective, i found both sides are extremly right because we will either reduces the importance of the freedom of speech or receiving a non autheitic news, and both are a bit harmful for the society . So i suggest to combine between the two regulary for a better consequences.
Finally, the regulation of social media can be beneficial but it may affect the free speech so we have to try to put a wise effort on choosing between the two.
