It is thought that due to pollution, planet Earth will be unlivable and that humans will need to find another planet where they can live in the future, I agree with this statement, humans will need to find a new livable planet, because of the irreversible damage that they have done to the planet and the depletion of natural ressource that Earth went through.
On one hand, the levels of pollution have been increasing during the last decades, which resulted in a rise of the average temperature on the planet. These last years, summers had been hotter than the previous years, while winters had been colder. This variation in temperatures has made it harder for humans to adapt. Subsequently, this variation is directly attributed to pollution. For instance, scientists have found that ocean’s levels have increased and that some cold region didn’t get any snow these past years, which is mainly due to global warming.
On the other hand, ressources on planet Earth are finite, eventually humans will deplete the planet of all its minerals and materials. By 2050 it is predicted that water will become a scarce ressource. Furthermore, if governments don’t invest heavily into new water desalination technologies or other devices to make drinkable water, humanity will be deprived from an essential ressouce to its survival. Moreover, the rising temperatures will also result in more wildfires that will be harder and harder to control, thus impacting harvest, biodiversity, soil quality, and food supply.
In conclusion. I believe that humans have harmed the planet and used up all its ressources. So finding a solution will take decades. In the meantime, looking for a new planet that might support life should be a priority.
