Some people believe that physical education (PE) is just as important as other educational topics, while others claim that it should be optional. Both approaches have valid points and are worth the thoughtful idea.
Supporters of compulsory physical exercise claim that it helps students stay active and healthy. Connection in sports not only promotes physical form, but also contributes to mental welfare. In addition, PE teaches teamwork, discipline and valuable life skills, all of which are necessary beyond the classroom. Schools that prefer PE often find that students are more energetic and concentrated, which can positively affect their educational achievements.
On the other hand, some people feel that PE should not be compulsory. Not all students enjoy doing physical activities, and some people may prefer to focus on educational themes such as mathematics, science or language, which they believe will be more beneficial in their future careers. Given the already crowded school plan, these people claim that students should have the freedom to choose whether or not to participate in PE.
Personally, I think physical education plays an important role in the general growth and development of students, but it should not be forced on everyone. It is important to encourage students to remain physically active, but they should also have the opportunity to participate in activities they revel in. In this way, they can maintain a healthy lifestyle without feeling the burden, while still focusing on the subjects that they believe are important.
In the end, both facets have suitable points. I believe it is in the best interest of students if faculties permit students to pick whether or not to do PE or different activities with the intention to grow up wholesome, happy, and confident.
