Some people believe that the punishments needs to be fixed for every different type of crime. Other part of people, however, argue that the circumstances of an individual crime, and the motivation for committing it, always needs to be taken into account when deciding on the punishment. I disagree with this because I think that every reason of the crime may, change by Situation, by the person and by the place.

On the one hand, some people hold the view that there should be fixed punishments for each type of crime. They think that if each type of crime has same punishments, people may be more equal about their punishments. For example in Panama, the system of the punishment has changed in 2017 and there are fixed punishments for each type of crime. By the research of BBC News, 62% of the people who live in Panama are happy about the new system. I think that this system will cause important problems of equality in Panama in the future.

On the other hand, others hold the opinion that every crime may have different reasons and because of that every crime needs to be punished by their own situation They think that the reasons for the crime needs to be argued also. For example, in the book ”Les Miserables” written by Victor Hugo, Jean Valjean stole the bread for an important reason but because of the fixed punishments, he had a punishment of working 5 years in a ship. My opinion about the state is if every crime evaluated by their own situation, we would have a world that may be more equal.

To conclude, although views differ about the punishments for each type of crime. I believe that every crime needs to be evaluate by their own condition.
