Band 7+: Some people believe that young people should choose the jobs that they want, but other people think they should be more realistic and think more about their future.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many people argue that young people should pick careers based on their passions, while others think they should consider practicality. This essay will discuss both opinions and give my viewpoint.

On the one hand, it is beneficial for young people to follow their interests when choosing a job. If they work in a field they love, they are more likely to remain motivated and put in extra effort. This can result in better performance and personal satisfaction, as they truly enjoy what they do and are willing to learn continuously. For instance, a teenager who dreams of being a musician will be happier if they pursue music, rather than being forced into a career they dislike. By choosing a path they are passionate about, young people might also be more creative and dedicated, which could lead to better opportunities.

However, some argue that focusing on future stability is more important. Jobs in medicine or engineering often provide steady income and clear career paths. Parents might want young people to be realistic, especially in uncertain times. Choosing popular professions can reduce financial risk and offer security. This approach may give them better chances of supporting a family. For example, an individual who becomes a doctor can usually find stable work and earn a respectable salary for many years.

In my opinion, it is crucial to balance passion with sensible goals. Young people should follow their interests but also think about employability. By merging enthusiasm with planning, they can gain happiness and a stable future.
