In recent years, more and more vaccines and medical methods have been tested on animals before being used by humans. While some people argue that this way of examination should be restricted, I support animal experimentation because it is indispensable for the development of medical care.
Several factors contribute to the belief that the limitations of animal examination are necessary. Firstly, causing pain to animals is believed to be against the ethical standards because like people, the lives of all creatures should be respected and preserved instead of acting as sacrifices for medical development. Moreover, it is a fact that the body structure of animals is not completely similar to human’s, which may lead to the potential responses for human use that scientists can not predict clearly. As a result, humans may suffer from some negative impacts on their health such as allergy, poisoning or even medical shocks. Therefore, it is said that scientists should find other solutions, which are more effective and unpainful to handle this issue.
However, I would argue that people should continue animal examination for some reasons. Initially, human’s lives should be the priority instead of creatures and animal testing acts as a key role in the medical renovation such as finding out new vaccines or treatment methods, which improves health, prevents ailments and expands our life expectancy. As a consequence, people’s living standard will increase remarkably. Another reason why animal testing is necessary is that reliable alternatives to animal experimentation may not always be available and discovering new ways can take up to some years or even several decades. Accordingly, some animals such as laboratory mice needed to be used to meet the pressing health demands of people.
In conclusion, although some people believe that the restriction of testing new medical methods on animals is essential, I hold a strong opinion that animal experimentation should be supported for the improvement of health care.
