Some individuals argue that physical education is an essential part of education for children, while others prioritize academic subjects during school hours. In my view, both academics and physical education should be balanced to promote a child’s overall development.
It is believed that physical education is crucial for children’s physical and mental health. Regular exercise helps prevent obesity and improve mental well-being. Furthermore, physical education enhances social skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, and communication. These valuable skills encourage face-to-face interaction instead of excessive use of social media platforms. Neglecting physical education can result in an unhealthy lifestyle and reduce students’ productivity in the long run.
In contrast, some people believe that academics play a pivotal role in children’s education because they increase career opportunities and support further education. Main subjects such as mathematics, science, and literature are essential for higher levels of education. A strong academic foundation increases students’ chances of succeeding professionally and securing good jobs. However, excessive focus on academics can lead to stress, depression, and social isolation.
In my opinion, a well-rounded education should include both academics and physical education. By organizing both activities into the daily schedule, children can maintain their well-being while also improving academic performance.
