In modern world, there is much discussion about where governments should to spend money. Space exploration is very expensive topic that many people have different opinions.
First, space exploration is important for science and technology. When countries invest in space programs, they discover new things about universe and develop new technologies. For example, United States spent billions dollars for NASA and they discovered many important informations about planets and stars. This knowledge helps humanity to understand more about where we came from and where we going. Also, space technology creates new jobs for scientists and engineers, which is good for economy.
However, many people think governments should spend money for problems on Earth first. There are millions of people who don’t have clean water, food, or education. In Brazil, my home country, many children cannot go to school because government doesn’t have enough money for build schools. If governments stop spending money in space and use this money for education and healthcare, millions of peoples could have better lives. Is more important to help people who are suffering now than to explore planets where nobody lives.
In my opinion, I think both are important but governments need to find balance. Space exploration gives us knowledge and technology, but we cannot ignore problems on Earth. Maybe governments can spend less money in space and more money in social problems, but not stop space programs completely.
In conclusion, space exploration and Earth problems both need attention from governments. The question is how much money should go to each area. I believe governments should to prioritize Earth problems first, but also continue space research because is important for future.
