People hold diverse perspectives about whether students should be given homework or not. It is a problematic issue among members of society whether homework plays an essential role in education. In my opinion, I believe that homework is very important for students academic development and should be included in the learning process.
On the one hand, it is argued that students should not receive homework from schools. Supporters of this argument believe that giving homework can increase stress level among students because after a long day at school they need time to relax and rest. As a result, excessive academic tasks may lead to mental exhaustion and even loss of motivation to study. In addition, it is also claimed that homework limits students free time which they spend on different activities such as sport training or hobbies that are important for their personal growth.
On the other hand,I share the view of those who believe that homework is necessary in education system. First and foremost, it is irrefutable that homework helps students revise materials which they have learned during lessons and improve their understanding of difficult topics. Moreover, it should also be mentioned that doing tasks independently at home can develop responsibility and time management skills, which are essential for future academic success.
In conclusion, the discourse on whether students should be given homework is characterized by different perspectives. Despite the diversity of viewpoints, I am inclined to side with those who consider that homework is an important part of education and it should be continued in schools.
