Some people believe that scientific research should invest more in finding ways to treat world health issues. In contrast, others suggest that remaining issues are more significant. Although both views hold merit, I personally agree more with the latter perspective. Both views will be argued in this essay.
Concentrating more on solving world health problems plays a big role in promoting people’s faith in science, while also providing the best treatments for elusive diseases. In today’s society, there are still many diseases such as cancer, for which scientists are still struggling to provide a solution. Therefore, by putting effort into researching to solve these health problems, more advanced treatments or medicine can be developed to extend patients’ lifespan, lead to a reduction in the severe effects it causes, thereby offering more time for its patients to be able to accompany their families longer. Moreover, scientific health research can help solve fatal diseases that threaten millions of lives. For example, continuous research and experimentation during the Covid 19 pandemic succeeded in saving patients who were on the brink of death. For that reason, there’s no doubt that some people find it important to focus on solving world health problems.
While health is undeniably an important factor in society, other matters, including environment, agriculture, and industry, also greatly contribute to the country’s development. The world is constantly facing environmental issues like climate change, global warming, or pollution. Not only do these problems affect the human community but also wildlife. For instance, global warming’s consequences include the concerning reduction of polar bears, pushing them to the verge of extinction, thereby leading to the loss of biodiversity. In terms of agriculture and industry, those are two spheres that significantly impact the development of many nations. Therefore, manufacturing more high-tech machines in order to serve these fields can result in the economic development of a country.
In conclusion, putting more effort into researching and solving world health problems is essential for society’s needs; people should also acknowledge the benefits from elaborating on other factors such as the environment, agriculture, and industry. In my opinion, I’m the component of the latter belief, which supports that there are many important issues besides health.
