The connection between modern technology and crime rates have sparked heated debate. While some people think that technology fosters the increase in law breaking, I agree with those who reckon that it has many tools that reduce crime.
On the one hand, it is often argued that technological advancement can encourage criminal activity. One reason is that the internet provides new opportunities for cybercrime, such as hacking and identity theft. Law offender can anonymosly from anywhere in the world, which makes it diffucult for police to find them. In addition, the rise of social media and digital platforms made it easier for illigal activities to spread it quickly and widely. For instance, scammers can reach million of victims with message or websites.
On the other hand, many people believe that technology plays a crucial role in reducing crime. Modern tools as cameras, drones and face ID systems help police to identify criminals more quickly and easily. Also GPS tracking and online datebases allow law enforcement follow suspects and collect information faster than before. For instance, cameras can record crimes and later be used like evidence in court. For my perspective, many offenders are affaid to be caught because of this.
In conclusion, although technology can create new crimes, it also provides effective tools to prevent and solve them.
