Band 6+: Some people think that children's leisure activities must be educational otherwise, they are a complete waste of time.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is thought by some that off springs must have and be engaged in such free-time activities which can improve their academic and educational skills, otherwise, they are just spending time on useless things. I quite disagree with this statement and my essay is going to prove my position with evidence.

The first reason why leisure activities does not have to be educational is the fact that teenagers regularly go to school and learn subjects so too while hobbies are supposed to reduce the stress and make the day more interesting. In other words, if children are made to do something educational in their free time, they will probably get fed with studying and tend to give up learning. For instance, in China, school breaks are often organized to do some physical activities or team sports or sometimes children are asked to sleep. As a result, the productivity of learning increases. We can see now that free-time activities should be out of something educational and be more physically active.

The second reason of the case above is that leisure activities should be funnier and interesting when children and parents are doing together. To be clear, they will get bored and more stressed if their activity is rather educational or subjective. For instance, it would be better if they were doing house chores, which are not, of course, educational, yet they are so beneficial to strength the bond of family members. Briefly writing, educational aspects of hobbies are not advantageous when a child is doing these activities with parents and those must be friendly and communicative.

In conclusion, I disagree that it will be a waste of time if hobbies of the young are not educational and I prefer those to be rather non-educational and physically-active.
