It is a common situation that governments invest more fundings on education rather than sports. In my opinion, I totally agree with this strategy and will explain the reason in the following paragraph.
Apparently, education is the most useful way to keep a country running. Raising(培養) talents has long been the priority of nations since the idea of country existed. Without competitive(能幹的) young people, societies will be lack of reliable labor and cannot function effectively. Therefore, the developed countries such as the America or Japan put a lot of effort on encouraging youth to challenge high-end tecnic, giving large amount of scholarships to those who provide new achievement on different field and sending professors abroad to learn more useful things from other countries.
Raising athletes, however, is not as effective as providing general education because it takes far more time and effort to train individuals. Besides, the possibility of winning global competition is low while the time that an athlete can maintain on the competition is short. 更何況即便 a country successfully raise a great athlete, the advantage of this is merely the applause from audience and the faith(名氣), which actually does not 實務上的 helps a lot.
To sum up, education should be considered more important than sports because it gives hand-on help while sports is more like additional luxury expense. Government should indeed spend more money on education to continue the operation of all kinds of aspects.
